Innovative edge
Bosman Van Zaal has long supported growers in achieving optimal crop climates. OptiDry extends this commitment by focusing on energy-efficient cultivation and electrification, complementing existing offerings.
Bosman Van Zaal has developed two standard types of dehumidification units:
- OptiDry Compact X: The Optidry Compact X is designed to dry air very efficiently and to connect easily on an existing or new chilled watercircuit or freecooling circuit with a drycooler.
- OptiDry Advanced DX: The Optidry Advanced DX is a compact, efficient unit designed for drying, cooling, and heating air in a plug-and-play format.
The OptiDry Compact X
The Optidry Compact X is an advanced condensation dryer equipped with an air/air heat exchanger which pre-cools the incoming air and post-heats the cooled air. This achieves savings of 30% on the cooling power required compared to a conventional condensing dryer. The Optidry Compact X is suitable for conditions with humidity from 70% to 95% and temperatures from 17°C to 30°C.
The X stands for cross flow heat-exchanger, which is integrated into the unit and by using this extra heatexchanger you will save 30-50% on the chilled water capacity. Which will also save you a same amount of reduction of pumpflow and energy.
The Optidry Compact X has a compact design and is specially designed for use under cultivation gutters and growing tables. The moist air is then drawn in from the gable or path side and the dry cool air is blown out through the distribution airsock under the cultivation gutters or growing tables.
The OptiDry Advanced DX
The Optidry Advanced DX is a compact, efficient unit designed for drying, cooling, and heating air in a plug-and-play format. These indoor units can be easily installed in greenhouses or added to existing plant growth chambers for enhanced dehumidification. As one of the first dehumidifiers using the natural refrigerant R290 (propane), the Optidry Advanced DX offers lower energy consumption compared to chemical refrigerant models, making it future-proof against upcoming EU regulations that will ban other refrigerants like R410A, R407C, and R32. R290 is highly efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Optidry Advanced DX can be used in various growing setups, including under cultivation gutters, under container systems or as a compact unit at the top of the greenhouse. It provides flexible dehumidification, cooling, and heating as needed. This ready-to-use unit is factory-tested and easily installable by the user. The standard version features a microtube evaporator with a hydrophilic coating for efficient condensate drainage.
Technical specifications & Add-ons
The standard version comes equipped with a microchannel condenser that reheats the air coming out of the evaporator. However, there is also an option for heat recovery. This involves adding a brazed plate heat exchanger with water inlet and outlet connections, allowing you to utilize or store the recovered heat externally.
This feature enables precise control of the outlet air temperature, effectively managing excess heat. As a result, the greenhouse can remain closed for longer periods, reducing natural gas consumption and significantly cutting down on CO2 emissions.
The OptiDry units have different add-on options available to customize to your specific needs. These different options include:
- Airsock connection on fan to attach airsock, for better airdistribution
- Mouting bracket, In case it needs to be mounted;
- Floor Standing feets, if it is to be put on the floor;
- Heatrecovery / Hydroloop version (For Advanced DX);
- Under/overpressure syphon;
- Filtering section.
